my favorite holiday

Christmas has come and past…   now onto my favorite holiday….   NEW YEAR’S EVE!        Not because I am one to stay out late toasting the new year at fantastic parties but because I love beginnings.  Looking out into a new year of possibilities, wondering what adventures and treasures it will bring.  (I love sunday’s for the same reason.)  AND I have never been more ready for spring.  There’s also the new year’s resolutions.  I love them and make them every year.  It doesn’t matter to me if I break them down the road, I like having something to work towards.  In fact, I am constantly working toward one goal or another.  It’s what makes me tick.  “If you are not moving forward, you are moving backward.”  I guess I am determined that when I look back 20 years from now that I will be able to see that I have become a better person.

My list of resolutions for 2009 isn’t fully been compiled yet..  there is a bottle of sparkling grape juice (oooo special) waiting in the fridge for just the occasion.  I can’t wait to see what 2009 has in store.  It’s bound to be filled with an abundance of laughter, good times, and hard work.

Here is a snapshot of my daughter.  This image encompasses her personality perfectly….   sweet eyes full of joy and wonder….  img_3205a-blog

Much to my dismay, my blog is funky right now.  So, until I get it fixed it’s gonna look plain yucky….  hopefully only until tomorrow.

my EB

Last night was date night.  woo hoooo!  (thank you Sara for babysitting)  That was our first date since May 2007 because Jordan went overseas for 16 months.  Date night is always fun with my hubby.  We went to eat at Ruby Tuesday’s and then to see Twilight (my second time).  We figured it would be a good night since everything’s ice capped, there wouldn’t be any crowds…   I love going to the theatre when there are only a few others there and you can pretend you are all alone.  We prefer to go to the matinee for that reason but since our dinky town theatre only has a 7pm show on week days, we took what we could on a Monday.  I was excited to see Twilight with Jordan.  We were racing to finish the book.  He beat me because he has more down time.  The movie was a disappointment but I heard that they canned the director and hired someone else for New Moon, so I am flying high.  I am dying to start New Moon but I have an incling that I will be getting it for Christmas, so I’m holding off.  I need another Edward fix…   *swoon*

Anyway, got of on a tangent…   back to my original train of thought…….       Last night as our meals arrived (mine the top sirloin steak, yum) we were throwing lines back and forth from Scrubs…      Turk suggests the game “steak”..  whoever finishes their steak first is the winner.  Everything is a competition.  Jordan and I have the relationship of Turk and JD in a lot of ways. Always competing, playing jokes on eachother, endless teasing….   not letting either one of us take eachother too seriously.  I feel so lucky to be married to my best friend.  No one can make me laugh like he does.  And even though he can make me want to pull my hair out at times….   he is my favorite.  My EB…   my eternity buddy.

Last week I had the pleasure of shooting Missy and Jacob.  Missy is the nicest person and so down-to-earth.  We immediately clicked.  She cut my hair a few years back after a wack job from a different hair dresser.  She did a fabulous job.  I tried to get into her after I moved back here last year but she is always so busy.  And always wait until the last minute to cut my hair

I don’t normally do families but how could I say no to this duo?  I have a soft spot for single moms since I was kind of one for 16 mo while Jordan was overseas.  It gave me a new found respect.  And just forget it if she works full time which most do of course.  It was hard enough with financial backing.

These two have a great bond.  Jacob is such a respectful, delightful kid.  Missy has done a great job raising him.

absorption

so, i’ve sat on this computer for hours on end… working, working, working…  not working, emailing, scanning my favorite blogs, shopping, reading, absorbing more and more..    it’s endless…   getting up only every so often to stoke the fire and go the bathroom….     what would i do without the internet??  seriously!  i took my computer in to be worked on over Thanksgiving weekend and drove them NUTS with my calls i am sure.   i love technology..    i even have the internet on my phone.  once you go iphone, you never go back   now that i have looked down at the clock i realize it is WAY, WAY, WAY past my bedtime…  seeing how i am a morning person, this is really cramping my style……     i thought i’d throw in one more post before i head to slumberland…   must.break.free…..

here is my darling daughter on thanksgiving.  i have to say one of the best things about having a daughter is dressing her.   and she is all girl too…  she loves all things girl…  hats, shoes, bags, babies….
